Catamount Spotted Near Natchaug Forest

Last night my husband was out walking a sick dog at 3.30 a.m. and as he exited the back door of our house, which is in Chaplin, CT, an area quite close to the Natchaug and Goodwin forest preserves, he spied a slim, long tailed catamount with black tail tip and small ears. It was not a house cat or bobcat.
Very exciting to see big cats active again in CT!
