About two years ago, I pulled out of my street onto West Mountain Road, West Simsbury, CT about 7:15 a.m. Right in front of me, a large animal leaped from the right side of the road to the center and then leaped again to the other side of the road disappearing into the woods. I sat there for about a minute thinking, was that a mountain lion. It wasn’t a dog, bobcat or certainly not a large cat. This animal was magnificent in the way it crossed the road in two leaps. I got to work and looked up what mountain lions look like and that’s exactly what I saw.
