  2. A mountain lion would have to weigh 50 lbs. at some point before it could weigh 150 lbs! But “Jen” is right. If it’s got a stub for a tail, it’s probably a bobcat. The difference between a bobcat and a mountain lion is actually huge. Mountain lions, cougars, pumas, etc. are very large cats with long tails. Full grown bobcats are generally only twice the size of a large housecat, not 10 to 20x the size.
