Once found abundantly across the American continent, this only true native lion was nearly wiped out by ignorant Atlantic seacoast hunters 175 years ago. Few early settlers had any idea as to what hardships awaited them, when driving Conestoga wagons along ancient paths in virgin wilderness on their trek westward.

Carrying English-made firearms, the uneducated pioneers caused tragic consequences for native wildlife inhabiting the virgin forests. For the 1st time, wolves, mountain lions, black panthers & bears came face to face with an enemy like no other, who began killing sprees on non-threatening wildlife. similar conditions continue to this day in isolated regions of the United States!
