I saw a Mountain Lion run up into the woods right at the end of Ricky Top Rd at Sherman Ave. just caught the end of it and thought I was a large dog I know in the area. Light brown with a Lon tail. Too large to be BobCat, not a deer didn’t jump and defiantly not coyote
It stopped about 15 feet in the woods and stood still looking back. I drove past slow but couldn’t get a better look because traffic was catching up to me. Best guess is it was about 120 lbs.
Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 5:15 PM a mountain lion came out of the woods across the street from my house, which is at the base of West Rock Ridge State Park. It walked onto the road as I pulled down my driveway, into the street. The woods it came out of has a small stream and is water company property. Our street is very quiet.
It was about 2ft tall, light tan color, long tail. It trotted down the street and then went into the brush in my neighbors yard. I did not get a picture.
I live next to sleeping giant state park and hike regularly. on sunday October 14, 2012 at aproximately 4:30 pm I was finishing my hike on the horse trail and spotted a large cat crossing the trail about 100 feet in front of me. The cat was a solid color medium brown with a long ( 3+ ft) tail and was the size of a german shepard dog, my guess was 100 lbs. The cat crossed slowly heading north directly towards Mansion rd in Wallingford. I did not get a picture as the cat went into some heavy scrub next to the trail, i did call DEEP that told me it must be a bobcat as there are no cougars or mountail lions in ct. I also reported it to the park ranger .
At 9:05pm, tonight, driving on West Woods Rd between Shepard Rd and Rt.10 spotted a lion running across the road. Didn’t know they were in area.
