Bobcat?
I am an uneducated observer, but thought the sighting to be special enough to report. Today, aug 25, 2012 at 5pm, i saw a smallish wild cat run across Sharp Hill Road in Wilton. It had short but ample ears and a short tail. It's legs were certainly longer than a house cat, and the body longer and fuller. The medium colored coat looked like it had multi colored tonality to it. My guess of weight based upon assorted cats, dogs, and children i have interacted with is about 25 - 30lbs.

It seems more like a bobcat because of the short tail.

Yes that sounds like a bobcat. I saw the largest coyote on Sharp Hill a few years ago. It must have been 80 lbs. It is no wonder there are always missing cat signs there.

We see Bob Cats regularly in our back yard- we live on Whipstick and our six acres is the northern border of Millstone farm. The other day I found some scat which was definitely not from a deer and too large to be from a small animal. I have several good pictures of the cat walking on our neighbors property. We sometimes see them chasing rabbits in our back yard, right next to our swing set where our two year old and one year old play. I am wondering wether I should/ can trap these animals. I am concerned because we see them on a consistent basis.
