Naugatuck
At approximately 11pm, my daughter started yelling to me about a lion in our yard. I live in the woods and compost our scrap food. I thought my daughter was just exaggerating a normal cat. My son then started freaking out, which in turn made me go to the window. There starring at me about 20 feet away, stood a mountain lion. He was golden in color and hissed at me when I moved. He was the size of a medium dog. I know for a fact this was no bob cat. I've seen bob cats, this was not one.
The DEP showed up soon after, looking to investigate it.

What did DEEP say? Were you inside the house when you saw it? I live in Bethany and neighbors claim to have seen him here as well….

The DEP started looking for tracks, but stated that because of the rain the probability of finding anything was unlikely. Evidently, they don’t stay in one place or one area. So the likelihood of my seeing it again is pretty slim. I was inside my house at the time, but have a sliding glass back door. It was through the door that I and my family saw it.

I live in Shelton and we have had sightings of mountain lions in our neighborhood. The lion was in our front yard two nights ago and we have called the police and no one will cone out to investigate because they told us its not possible for a mountain lion to be in our area. It has been frustrating and scary!

What I saw 5 years ago in an apple orchard in Harwinton was about 100lbs, beige in color, long and lean with a long tail curled at the end. It was a beautiful sight but a bit scary. It looked like the Florida cats (cougars) that you see pictures of. I believe they live in the East Litchfield caves. This was not a bobcat but much larger and without spots.
