My wife, Candy-Jo and I were driving on rt 22 south (Millerton, NY) when we saw a mountain lion. I made eye to eye contact about 8 feet away from him (her). It looked about 60-75 lbs. We turned the car around, it just slinked across the road. Never even looked spooked, as if it had made contact with a human before. I have seen many bobcat before, including large ones. This was not a bobcat. Huge tail and a huge head. I often go mountain biking alone in the Berkshires, and now I am scares to death of running into one on a trail.

I was spotting deer in Stillwater, PA on a farm that my parents used to own when we both saw a huge cat whirl around and run. The cat was light brown in color, had a very long tail, and was approx. 7 feet long from snout to tip of tail. People in this area have reported cougar sightings for years, some providing pictures. The late chief of police in one local township claimed he watched a cougar cross a field, yet the PA game commission still denies their presence. Our sighting was actually about 25 years ago before the influx of sightings, so it was a total shock. We actually sat wide-eyed in his Blazer for about 15 minutes afterward wondering what we just saw…..
I did a cruck timber frame workshop last summer and worked with a guy from western Canada. He said that on his ranch, mountain lions almost exclusively preferred horses to cows. I would like to hear more about this report.
Canton woman claims she saw mountain lion, DEC IS SKEPTICAL: Spokesman says big cats ‘would be dead in the road’ if they were here
This sighting occurred in the northern end of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, several blocks from the Milwaukee River corridor. On a quiet street, wher other wild animals have been observed in the past. I wont swear that what I saw was a mountain lion, but nothing else comes close to what I observed fits no other
description.
It was dusk. I was coming back up Fratney Street between two fenced in areas on either side of the street on a bike. One area is at least a city block wide and overgrown with tall weeds, flowering plants and shrubs. The sighting was from about fifty to sixty yards directly in front of me.
I saw what can only be described as a huge grayish-brown cat move swiftly across the street. It was larger than a a large dog, its tail arced and long and slightly thicker at the end. It had something white in its mouth. I stopped immediately to try to determine what it was I was seeing. Fox, coyote, dog, but nothing fit except large cat.
It went under the fence. I looked at the spot when I got there and there was a gap in the fence with a well worn animal path leading away from it. I have wondered about what I saw ever since. It simply didn’t belong where I saw it.
From a friend in Texas
Take a look at what shows up at a stock tank in dry weather.
For those of you that have never hunted in South Texas , sometimes we post motion detector cameras at our feeders/tanks to see what is going on. Check out this sequence at a water tank.
