85lb cat seen in New Hartford, 2007

On a sunny afternoon a very large cat about the size of our 85lb golden retriever walked slowly across the driveway heading from swampy area towards the pond. In a slow smooth walk where you can see it's shoulders moving. It did not even look at me and did not appear hurried or frightened. It was about 25 yards from me, I tried to follow it, to see where it was headed, but it was gone.

It appear to be dark brown, almost black, because it was in the shaded area, but it unmistakably had a very long tail.

I have spoken to my neighbor who is a vet, and he said he have seen the cat too recently.
