I know what I saw
About one month ago, driving on Hurlbutt Street in Wilton I saw a young cougar crossing the road as it leapt into the woods. After comparing what I saw and numerous photos on the web, I confirmed what I saw. This was not a bob cat as it's tail was not "bobbed". It was not a coyote as it was most definitely Feline. It was not a large domestic short hair as it was much too large and much too long, even stretched out leaping. It's fur was very close to the body, tan in color, no stripes, no tufts. Of course Wilton Animal Control gave me the party line, but I know what I saw and it was a young cougar!

They are here in Ct. , regardless of what the “officials” say. Be aware when near the edges of woods and tall area’s of grass. Keep smaller animals inside at night and light your yard very well. Only large dogs will not attract them, but be careful when alone outside near woods area’s. It is easy to identify what you saw via the internet. Good Luck
