In Southington

Friday July 15th at about 8:15pm. Talking on the phone and looking out the back door up near the orchards I observed what I thought was mountain lion, a little smaller than I would've expected but definitely not a bobcat. It stepped out of the woods and walked about 30 or so feet into the yard, when I opened the door to get a better look it stared at me for less than a minute before it turned and walked back to the woods, it stopped at the woods and looked back for a second before it disappeared. I know exactly what a bobcat looks like, we have a regular around here, I know what a coyote looks like (also quite frequent) and I have never seen a coyote this color before, it was absolutely not a dog. I am pretty sure I just seen a cougar in my backyard. Been waiting years to see a bear (also frequent lately) and I see what I will always believe to be a cougar instead. A trade off I was happy to make.
