Mountain lion in Middletown
There was a Mountain lion spotted by my neighbor over the weekend (Sunday early morning to be exact), between Bell Street and Boardman Lane. My neighbor is a very avid hunter and knows his animals. The farm next door (directly on Boardman) has lost several animals in recent weeks. She had called someone to come look at the tracks and a "large cat" species was confirmed.
Is there any course of action that should be taken? Please advise, thank you.

So what did the someone say? Did they say it was somebodies escaped pet, or a large bobcat? I am sure that will be the story. I hope photos were taken of the tracks, as well as a comparison with a ruler to show their size and distance from each footprint.

What kind of animals were lost? A predator harassing livestock can be dispatched according to DEP. Can you use a firearm at your location. Getting it in your sights will be difficult though. You have to do somthing now that it knows your there. Talk to a wildlife nuisance control person.

The top link is the CT professional org for wildlife removal. The last one calls himself BigBear. Il tell you right now any of these guys will be shocked by the request. They usualy get calls for squirels, raccoons and skunks. If youve read my posts you know we have animals too and get hit regularly by everything. I want these things gone…… My wife stabbed a bobcat with a manure fork that hit a turkey at her feet inside the barn and the DEP collected the carcass. They will return untill you eliminate them. I know this is hard line but these things are going to cause a disaster.
Good Luck

That would be so scary to be a part of. I sure hope that there was animal control or something to put it to sleep. That would be so scary!
