Jan '12; 2 or 3 years ago, I believe it was fall time, early evening, I saw a mountain loin cross rt 4 between Torrington and Goshen. I live in Goshen and was on my way home from Torrington going up the rt 4 hill, when from the left side of the road a mountain lion came out from a lightly wooded area. It stopped at the edge of the road and appeared to look both ways to see if anything was coming, then crossed the road in front of me, 200' +/-. I thought I was watching Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. It was in the area of Klugg Hill road and about a mile or so down the hill, east, of the Action Wildlife Foundation Facility. Although suprised at seeing it, it was absolutly a mountain lion and nothing else. Tan, small round head with small ears, long thick tail and a black spot at the end. I would say it was about the same size as my femail German Shepherd +/- . Anyone who knows the area would know a lot of woods and farm land around there and plenty of deer.

We also live in Goshen. Friends of ours also saw a mountain lion cross rt 4 near Klug Hill road several years ago. My daughter saw a mountain lion cross Hageman -Shean rd in Goshen this past November about 9 pm,heading into the Water Company land near East st. North. Several other residents of this area have also seen this animal. 3 times in the past few years,both my wife and I have seen a Lynx cross the uninhabited area of East st North . Silver grey with ear tufts,considerably larger than a Bobcat.Another animal they tell me does not exist in this state.I received a game camera for Christmas and hope to get some pictures.
