I received a call at work one day this past summer of 2012 around late July from my wife who was out of breath and very frantic. She was walking our Rottie/Shepard mix at Cat Hollow Park in Danielson, CT. when the dog lagged behind her by several yards. She turned to call him and out of the bush several feet behing the dog, she watched a large cat with a long swooping tail cross from one side of the road to the other and disappear. Our dog is 85 Lbs and the cat that she saw was larger than him. We have seen and know what bobcats look like...this was no bobcat. It was mid day and the road she walks runs parallel to the river which runs along the base of rocky hills to both sides. I called the DEEP and also posted the evnt on their website but received no response. The native americans named the area cat hollow from what i hear and we now know why.

I saw a mountain lion run across the intersection of rts 14 and 203 in Windham Center years ago. I would say that it was about 2006. I can understand why people don’t get a lot of pictures. They really fast. We also heard one about a mile away from that intersection. My friend and I were sitting on her front steps and we could hear it calling. You can’t even imagine that sound. And it was circling us, just out of circle of light given off by the streetlight. It was very scary. I know someone that has seen one in Franklin, and also on the shetucket river in south windham.
