Roxbury, CT Sighting
On 01/27/2013, while traveling south on route 199, between Washington, CT and my home in Roxbury, at approximately 9:30 pm a large mountain lion ran across the road, from west to east, between my wife's car traveling in front of me, and my car. I had to step on the brake to avoid hitting the cat, which was not more than a few feet in front of my car. This is my third sighting in 13 years and the second in the past two. All were in Roxbury. The first was on South Street, south of Flag Swamp Road about 12 years ago, and the second was on Squire road near South Street about a year and half ago. This cat was the largest. It appeared to be close to five feet long, and over 100 lbs. As it ran, its long, thick tail came straight off the back. This was a big, healthy, beautiful cat! Posted by: Lincoln Turner

Thank you for that report. I think it is important to describe as much of details as possible, including the actual location and time of day.
