Cougar Vocalizations

Some time in 2013 I was looking toward the mountains early in the morning from my window in Bloomfield, enjoying the scenery. This was about 5:30 AM. I suddenly heard what I thought was a woman screaming coming from the direction of the mountains. I listened intently trying to figure out where the screams were coming from, thinking that I needed to call the police. After the second or third scream I realized that the voice wasn't human. My first thought was, "What the heck?!". Having watched a Bigfoot TV show with my sons the night before I'm embarrassed to say that the thought did enter my mind. After some Youtube research I realized that the vocalizations were unmistakably cougar vocalizations. I have run into people over the years who have told me of sightings of the big cats so this made sense to me. Submitted by Gary Jones
