Sighting in Woodstock, CT on 2/10/12
I wanted to let you know that yesterday afternoon I was cutting firewood with my cousin on my 20 acres of land in North Woodstock, CT when we spotted a mountain lion. We had taken a brake from cutting and returned to my house which is approximately 100 yards from where we were cutting. As we were talking over the hood of my Kubota tractor my cousin unexpectedly froze in amazement and gestured toward the stone wall where we had just been cutting wood ten minutes earlier. As my eyes focused on the wall I saw a tan body moving along and it disappeared behind the wall as quick as I could focus on it. My cousin who had the chance to see it for 2-3 seconds is positive it had a long tail and was in the 70 pound range. My cousin is a knowledgeable person and an avid outdoors-man. We've seen bobcats before and this definitely wasn't a bobcat.

Very well put! I don’t feel the same when I go into the woods alone now. I’m always looking and wondering if there is a large cat stalking me!

Ask the D.E.E.P. what they think of this . Should be interesting.
