Mt. Lion spotted in Brookfield, CT
It was around 8:30 AM. I was cycling down my road from my morning ride. about 100 ft. ahead of me a spot an animal entering the swampy brush. It was tan with a long tail and walked like a cat. It was similar to a medium sized dog. As I rode by the spot where it entered the brush, I turned to look and low and behold it was sitting right near the edge of the road as if waiting for something. Luckily it wasn't me. I could hear some russeling in the wood opposite the cat as if something else was coming. Later that day, I went back to the spot to look for tracks. I mentioned what I was doing to a neighbor and she said her daughter had spotted what she thought was a Mt. Lion the day before, and there were 3 cubs with it.
What the hey!? There are Mt. Lions in Brookfield, CT by Lake Lillanoah. DEP take notice, 4 are too many for such a densly populated area.

I definitely saw a mt. lion on my street in brookfield awhile back. I was going out the door to get the paper in the early morning and I saw what I thought was a large dog next door- until I realized the tail was too long and slender and then it turned and ran across the street up the hill and stood looking at me for a moment. It had a cats head…. holy cow it was amazing ! It ran into the woods…. I know it was a mt. lion, no doubt about it.
