Boston Globe Article on Cougars
The Boston Globe posted a follow up article on cougars returning to the Northeast.
Note Mass Wildlife is modifying their stance quite a bit of late.
They still call Winchester a "false alarm", and stand by the interpretation that the track was
an "over register" of "two canine tracks".
Cougars of the Valley had a number of the world's best track experts look at that track.
They ALL agreed its not a canine track, but a large cat, consistent with a cougar.
The witnesses, a large number of them, all saw a LARGE CAT. There is no 140 lb great Dane roaming
around Winchester. The witnesses and on site evidence were totally ignored by the wildlife folks.
Sounds like Matanuck doesn't it??
Regardless though, a single track is not a great confirmation. We have other very good tracks from Massachusetts that by themselves just say a large cat was there. Heck, tracks have been cast in Western Massachusetts now for many decades from large cats. Nothing listed anyplace.
Its now just a matter of time before the evidence quality gets better with more sightings.

Seems to me like they are setting themselves up to be right when THEY confirm one, meanwhile you can’t possibly be right! Lol…..
