Mountain Lion trying to get our Chicken!

I was sitting in our backyard in Killingworth, CT when I heard my chicken making some crazy sounds. I looked over and thought I saw a large dog running back and forth near her cage while. I starting yelling and running towards the cage. I got about 20 feet from the animal when I realized that it was a mountain lion. I would have noticed sooner but the trees were blocking it. The animal started to walk away when I was yelling but then stopped and we stared at each other for a full 10 seconds before I had the courage to yell again and it walked quickly towards the woods. I immediately googled mountain lions to be sure and it was definetly one! I contacted animal control who said that the state would be contacted but to expect no one to call me back because the state doesnt believe that there are mountain lions out here.
