Just saw big cat, think mountain lion while at stop sign exiting off of exit 91 (rt.234) Stonington. Was about the size of a medium size dog (slightly smaller than my 80lb pitbull). Moved slowly across the street into the woods, definitely and impressive animal. submitted by: Laura
As my husband and I were driving north, I was gazing out the passenger window and noticed two large shapes in the woods next to I95 approximately mid-way between exits 90 and 91. SInce it is wintertime, with minimal leaf cover and snow on the ground, it was easy to see that these shapes were in fact mountain lions. The presence of the long tail is what convinced me, or I might have suspected lynx instead. I saw one face very clearly, and the ears were more triangular than expected, but the size, body shape, and tail were very much that of a mountain lion. Submitted by Lisa Philo
I was driving north on I-95 last night 11/26/11 around 11:30 pm and spotted a large tan big cat on the left side of the road standing still. It was very large and appeared to be a cougar. Was not a bear, a deer, or any kind of dog- it had the face of a lion. Location was just after Stonington, CT exit. It shocked me completely…I found this website to my relief (I thought I was seeing things) and thought I would post. This guy was beautiful- hope nothing happens to him, but being so close 95 isn’t healthy!
