Large black cat in Morris

Tonight about 9:30 pm as I was driving on the stretch of Route 61 thru Morris that links Litchfield to Bethlehem a giant black cat sauntered in front of my car. I immediately thought it must be a lost black Labrador retriever but it absolutely, 100 percent was feline and it was enormous, nobody's kitty cat, 4-6 feet long. It looked like a panther.
