Mountain Lion in Hebron, near Marlborough line
On Oct. 8, 2014, I was driving west on Rt. 66 between Hebron and Marlborough, not far from the painted rock. A mountain lion ran in front of my car, moving quickly across the street from woods on the right to woods on the left (north to south). It was running the entire time and only in view for maybe 3 seconds, but it was unmistakeable. Tan in color, long, graceful strides, very fast. I was struck by its overall size and the muscle tone, particularly in the shoulder and leg areas. Not sure how to gauge weight, but it was taller and longer than the average mid-sized dog -- say, a yellow lab -- but thinner in the abdomen. Beautiful animal.
