New London
A friend and I were walking through the Arboretum at Connecticut College in New London today at approximately 3:30 pm and were shocked speechless to see a large black animal up ahead on a trail that we could only describe as a large, sleek, black (panther? puma? mountain lion?) cat. I know it sounds crazy. It was definitely not a fisher cat. It stayed very still for a moment and then sauntered off slowly. It moved very gracefully, low to the ground as if it were about to pounce on something. It was large, all black and it had a cat-like face. Scared the daylights out of us! I am wondering if I should call the college and report it. It was in a wooded area to the left side of the large pond.

Sounds just like the cat I saw 2 years ago in Westbrook. Scared the daylights out of me too
