Screaming

The weds. before Labor Day we were awakened by an uncanny screaming in the yard outside our home. It was between 4 and 5 AM and continued in bursts of 3 or 4 screams in succession followed by a pause of several minutes. This continued for about 30 mins. After we told friends about it they suggested it was a fishercat, so we went online to hear the different screams of the likely candidates. We even looked into foxes; since we know that there's one that lives on the property. Assunimg that the reordings on like are accurate, what we found was unmistakable, mountain lion. If you've heard this sound you'll know it's like no other that you've ever heard. We live in Sandy Hook (Newtown) on property adjacent to 300 acres of private fish and game club land and across route 34 from the Paugussett State Park.
