Sighting in Bethlehem, CT
On July 3, 2015 myself and 4 others were on the deck of our home. Between 7:15 and 7:45pm to the L side of us a large cat was running along side our property in an open field toward a brush area. There is a river not far from our home down the hill. My mind wanted to say that is a large bobcat but the animal was about the size of my Golden who weighs 75 lb. The part that did not click for me was the long tail. It happened so quick that no one got a picture.
My son who was closest and has good eyesight reacted quickly in thought of our dog because he knew immediately that was no bobcat. (dog was outside on a lead). I checked on DEEP but there is no info to report mountain lion sightings only bear and moose. It may have been a fluke sighting and not a natural area for this cat. I read on one of my "Bethlehem My Hometown": facebook site that many of the animals in the area are getting nervous with fireworks. Have not seen since. Coloring was confusing because of trees but it was not a solid tan. Anyway, thanks for letting me share

I 1984 while surveying on Wickepeemee road I saw two mountain lions very dark brown or black. It was getting late in the day but I could see long tails.

I live off route 61 in Bethlehem. It was beginning of October 2015 I saw a large figure on the wood line of my yard, long tail probably 90 pounds. It was about 5:30am when I let my dog out I saw the figure. Couldn’t get a picture it ran quickly into the woods. Before it ran away it let out a cry that I’ve never heard before and scared me so bad my heart was pounding out of my chest.
