Cougar in Middlefield

I was driving down Jackson Hill Road at 2 pm, I am sure of the time because I was on my way to a party. The date was July 4, 2015. The Cougar ran across the road very fast and I thought it as a tan dog at first. I had a very good profile view for about 4 seconds. I noticed there was no snout, a very powerful body and the tail. Unfortunately I was alone in the car. At first I posted it on facebook and asked whether anyone else I knew had seen something. Recently I have heard others in town have seen it too.
