Dirt road encounter Northfield
One afternoon on a spring day in 2001 I can remember it as clear as the day was. I did sales on the road and was almost at my customers house. I took a fork to the right off rte. 254 in Northfield/Litchfield. It wasn't a long road and at the end was a dirt road with a stone wall running along the opposite side. As I approached the dirt road (Maybe 10 ft. away) preparing to take a right to get to my destination when I turned my head I spotted the Mountain lion jumping over the stone wall and into the woods. It was clearly a large cat, golden in color with a long tail that curled upwards. I saw everything but his face before he slipped away. In outside sales I was always on the road and have been fortunate to see a few wild animals including several Bears and a Bobcat but this Mountain loin was certainly the one I was most shocked and Impressed by.
